STUDENTS TRAVEL CONCESSIONS
International students undertaking their study at a University in New
South Wales do not qualify for Travel Concessions, which means you have
to pay full fare when travelling on the Government buses, trains, or ferries.
If you buy a concession ticket and do not qualify for the travel concessions
you will be fined if your ticket is inspected during your journey.
The New South Wales Government
has to date, passed legislation which does not give travel concessions
to this group of students.
Representatives from universities across New South Wales have formed the
Cross Campus Concessions Coalition, a group which is seeking to have travel
concessions be made available to ALL students in New South Wales.
